Today at Hope School

Today at Hope School

Today 193 children attend Hope School. This number includes 37 children who attend the nursery class. Hope School offers a wide variety of courses which follow the government's standard primary school curriculum. The children attending Hope School are fee paying and AIDS orphans. The fees paid by families who choose for their children to attend Hope School help maintain the school by covering the running costs such as teacher salaries. The orphans who attend Hope School also live in long term care at Hope School. They have no-one else to care for them and Hope School provides a home and a quality education to help them reach independence. The orphans who Hope School admit into full time care are those that are in urgent need and most vulnerable.

Subjects studied

English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Kiswahili, Civics, Vocational Skills, Religion, and Introduction to Computer. Social studies are studied by students in standard six and seven

In addition the primary school offers extra curriculum activities such as sports and games on Friday afternoons each week.

The school has a drum band and the children love drumming and singing the national anthem at assembly each morning!
